Physical fitness is the overall capacity or capability to perform any form of physical activity. Aim of this study is to find out the level of physical fitness of adolescent male studentsamong Municipal Corporation and semi-private school.
A sample size of 100, aged (12–17) was taken into consideration. The samples were divided into two groups. Group A (n=50, selected from municipal corporation) and Group B (n=50, selected from semi-private school) in Pune. The author assessed muscular fitness, speed/agility, flexibility and cardiorespiratory fitness using different performance tests are as follows, handgrip, standing long jump, 4 by 10 meter shuttle run, back saver sit and reach and 20 meter shuttle run test.
The author compared the values of each test between Group A and Group B by using ANOVA statistical method. The result showed that the P value of standing long jump test and 20 meter shuttle run test is much better in semi-private school as compared to Municipal Corporation.
This study concludedthat the subjects in Group B have better results in the 20 meter shuttle run test and standing long jump test with a P value of 0.000 and 0.001 respectively as compared to Group A.
