To study the prevalence of BV and its effect on Pregnancy Outcome.
Prospective cross-sectional study.
Vaginal swab for Nugent score and data on epidemiological characteristics were collected from 250 pregnant women with complaints of abnormal vaginal discharge. The data was analyzed using the SPSS statistical software.
The prevalence of BV was found in 19.6% of pregnant women in ? 28 weeks of gestation. Majority of women 43.2% were in age group of 21–25 years. Out of 49 patient with BV 24.5% had excessive foul smelling discharge. In respect of pregnancy outcome of BV patient, 22.4% had Preterm delivery.
