Abstract

The present study highlighted that 100% of medical students were aware of HIV/AIDS. However there were misconceptions regarding the mode of spread, incomplete knowledge about transmission of disease, incomplete knowledge about high risk groups for HIV/AIDS and preventive measures against HIV/AIDS. Students feel that they need to know more about HIV. So the students need intensive preclinical experience to enhance their knowledge. This must continue during the clinical years.
