90 psychotic patients (45 male and 45 females) are selected for study of Body mass index. In male patients minimum BMI is 24.5 and maximum BMI is 27.9 and mean value is 26.5(sd±0.52). In female patients minimum BMI is 21.8 and maximum is 23.1 and mean value is 22.35(sd±-0.31) These values are statistically highly significant.(p<0.001). This study will be important to the clinician to differntiate psychic patients from normal individuals. moreover increased BMI patients are prone to cardiovascular. neurological and Diabetius mellitus, myxedema etc., as most of the cardiac failure patients anxiety disorders.
