To estimate the value of fasting plasma Insulin and hs CRP and its correlation with age and sex related graded obesity.
The study was of cross sectional design and was primarily aimed at study of patients of metabolic syndrome. It was done on 64 obese subjects who were graded according to BMI into four groups. Fasting serum samples were obtained for glucose, insulin, C-peptide, HbA1c, lipid profile and hs CRP. Stastistical analysis were carried out using SPSS (version 14.0) and differences evaluated by one way analysis of variance (ANOVA).
We took a sample of obese people i.e, BMI more than 25 and studied the relationship of BMI, plasma insulin, waist circumference and hs CRP. For the insulin and hs CRP.
There is a high correlation between the degree of adiposity and the variability in the plasma insulin and hs CRP and it has its correlation with various age and sex division.
hs CRP high sensitivity C reactive protein, MS metabolic syndrome, BMI body mass index, IR insulin resistance
