Dengue is an arboviral disease. Dengue is endemic in more than 100 countries in the world, more in South-East Asia. Dengue infection in human being is often clinically in apparent but can lead to a wide range of clinical manifestation.
Prospective observational study.
Tertiary care hospital of Department of Pediatrics at SIMS Hapur and school of medical sciences and research Sharda University Greater Noida.
This study was conducted in department of pediatrics of Saraswathi institute of Medical Sciences, Hapur and school of medical sciences and research Sharda University Greater Noida between Jan 2016 to Dec.2016. A total of 80 children of age between 1 year to 12 year and +ve for Igm by ELISA were included. Investigation were Done in the form of HB, TLC, DLC, Platelet Count, Hct, Serum Bilirubin, aspartate transaminase (AST) alanine transaminase (ALT) Alkaline Phosphates (ALP), S. Albumin, Globulin, total Proteins, PT & PTTK, USG Abdomen and thorax were done.
Total patient were 80 out of which 24(30%), 20(25%) and 36(45%) were in the age group of 1- <5 year, 5 - <8 year and 8–12 year respectively. Most of the patients were male 52(65%) and rest are female 28(35%). Most of the patient was found in Oct-Dec. Regarding symptoms fever, headache, abdominal pain was most common. Rashes and bleeding manifestation was found in 22(27.5%) and 20(25%) respectively. Regarding clinical signs most common sign were Temp 62(7.5%), Hypotension 50(62.5%), hepatomagely 68(85%), bleeding manifestation 34(42.5%). Hemoconcentration 65(81.25%), thrombocytopenia 75(93.75%), NSI Antigen 70(87.5%) were found.
