Study of Serum HDL, Serum Non-HDL Levels in Type 2 Diabetes with Ischemic Heart Disease in India

Abstract

Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD) is the frequent causes of morbidity and mortality in India. The prevalence of Ischemic Heart Disease in Type 2 Diabetes is 9.9% while in general population is 2–4%. Dyslipidemia is one of the major risk factor for cardiovascular disease in type 2 diabetes. This study was conducted at K R Hospital attached to Mysore Medical College & Research Institute, Mysore to study serum Non-HDL, HDL levels in subjects with Type 2 Diabetes mellitus with Ischemic heart disease and without Ischemic heart disease, to assess the cardiovascular health status and to take appropriate steps to prevent further morbidity.
