A One Year Study of Profiles of Patients of Febrile Illness in Western U.P India

Abstract

Retrospective and Observational.

This study conducted on Department of Medicine, SIMS, Hapur during one year period on 120 patient who had fever of <2 weeks duration.

A total of 120 patient were included in this study. Out of which 74 (61.66%) were male and 46 (38.34%) were female. Most of the cases belong to the age of 20–30 years and 30–40 years.

Most of the patient 42 (35%) was having fever of <1 week duration. 65 (54.17%) patients was having high grade Intermediate fever. According to symptoms most of the patient were presented with Chills 70 (5033%), Headache 50 (41.66%), Bodyache 40 (33.33%), Vomiting and Pallor 25 (20.83%). Dengue, Enteric Fever and Malaria were found in 35 (29.17%), 22 (18.34%) and 16 (13.34%) respectively.

The most common cause of fever is infection which include dengue fever, Enteric fever, Malaria, Pneumonia, UTI and hepatitis.
