Lack of awareness among the community leads to less institutional deliveries resulting in high maternal & infant mortality rate, aim: to study the review of functioning of JSY scheme in India
various studies related to JSY scheme were analyzed. Results: of the 469 mothers interviewed, 333(71%) had institutional delivery, 128(27.3%) had benefited from JSY scheme & 68(14.5%) had received cash benefits of JSY. Overall, institutional delivery increased by 42.6% after implementation, the main cause of maternal mortality were eclampsia, pre-eclampsia & severe anemia both before & after implementation of JSY.
1. increase awareness about the target group of service and benefits under JSY scheme through mass media, TV, radio, role play traditional folk play, newspaper, poster, banner etc.
2. increase orientation training of ASHAs & ANMs focusing their role and responsibility under JSY scheme.
