Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is a socio-cultural and barbaric practice. FGM does not have any scientific or medical benefit to the but also imposes severe health risks to the females. FGM is usually performed by traditional practitioners and is carried out with traditional instruments without cleaning. This procedure is mainly carried out on young girls sometime between the time of birth and 15 years of age.
