Abstract

In Indian sub-continent, the presence of bovine viral diarrhoea virus (BVDV) infections of cattle have been reported by seroepidemiological surveys conducted using serum neutralization test and ELISA. Recently many tests have been developed to show the presence of BVDV sequences in clinical/peripheral blood leucocytes (PBL) samples. In the present study, a biotin labeled 5’UTR probe was prepared from one of the field samples S-4/99 that was used to trace the cDNA samples prepared from clinical PBL samples. The non-radioactive probe could identify the amplified 5’UTR sequences of rest of four samples in Southern Hybridization assays.
