Abstract

The incidence of tuberculosis in both developing and developed countries has been massively increased in recent years and tubercle bacillus continues to claim more lives than any other infectious agent. Tuberculosis has become a global problem responsible for the deaths of 3 million people each year. So there is need to develop methods for early detection of disease as well prescribing medicines. This will prohibit the incidences of drug resistance. This study was done to find out the correlation of INH drug in development of resistance in M. tuberculosis bacterium. Twelve resistant and eight sensitive strains were studied through RAPD PCR using INS 2 primer. RAPD genotyping is assumed a preferable technique for discrimination among clinical strains of M. tuberculosis.
