Air-borne microorganisms are a potential risk to human health, respiratory, nervous, cardiovascular, and immune systems, and cause endocrine disruption, asthma, allergies, etc. In the present research work conducted in Jabalpur city, Madhya Pradesh, India; fungal flora were isolated from dust samples collected from indoor and outdoor walls. To check the antimicrobial potency of different paint samples, antifungal agents and paint solutions were added with antifungal agents. Fungi like Cladosporium herbarum, Aspergillus versicolor, A. niger, A. flavus and Penicillium simplicissimum were the most dominant species reported in dust samples of both indoor and outdoor environments. Antimicrobial properties of different antifungal agents were assessed, where Ketoconazole was found as most effective against dominant fungal isolates and after mixing with different paint samples it showed maximum zone of inhibition against fungal isolates.
