Prospective memory refers to memory for delayed intentions. It is ubiquitous in our everyday life and plays an important role in day-to-day functioning. Prospective memory failures can have serious repercussions. For example, there are evidences that many serious industrial and traic accidents have happened due to prospective memory failures. Present review describes the construct of prospective memory, its types, the intervening variables and its status in diferent clinical conditions. It also briely discusses the rehabilitative approaches for individuals having poor prospective memory.
