E-learning is the use of electronic technology to deliver the knowledge to the learners. Computer-assisted learning, web-based learning is other names for E-learning. It may be synchronous learning or asynchronous learning or a combination of both which is called blended learning technology. After selecting the topic for E-learning, E-module is prepared which has along with the matter to be learnt, combination of audio, video & animations which helps to make it interesting & easy to understand. Such E-modules are utilized for conducting practical, tutorials or as case simulation mode to learn various problem-solving skills like diagnosis & management of patient. Learning with help of computers helps to overcome geographical restrictions & results in better retention of the contents and it's mainly a student-centred activity. This article explores efficacy of E-learning with respect to medical education in India& along with its advantages & disadvantages.
