Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor of Abdominal Wall-A Great Mimicker

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is a pseudotumoral lesion most commonly found in lungs. Extra pulmonary occurrences are rare. We report a case of 67 years old female patient who presented with abdominal pain and palpable mass in the left lower quadrant of abdomen. Ultra-sonography and CT scan revealed the lesion arising from anterior abdominal wall. A preoperative diagnosis of desmoid tumor was made and excised with adequate surgical margins. After histopathological examination diagnosis of inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor arising from anterior abdominal wall was given. We present this case because of its unusual location.
