Cervical infections are commonly encountered problem occurring in the women of the reproductive age group. Cervical smear is a cost effective test, fast and acceptable to most patients, can also be used in the di-agnosis of genital tract infections. The objective was to explore various lesions of uterine cervix (inflammatory and neoplastic) and spectrum of cervical cytology in different age groups in SIMS Hospital. This study was conducted at cytopathology lab of Saraswathi Institute Of Medical Sciences, Hapur from july 2015 to june 2016. Pap smear can act as a very good tool for screening of cervical intraepithelial lesion. This will give us an opportunity to find out and to treat the lesion at early pre invasive phase. Thus, this can reduce the occurrence of invasive carcinoma of cervix in India.
