Abstract

This study was undertaken to study the Histopathological etiology, its pathological aspect and to study of the age groups of DUB cases in Endometrial curettage specimen.

In this Study Endometrial specimen were obtained by Dilatation and Curettage Technique. The present Study Includes 200 cases Of DUB who were admitted in Civil hospital, Ahmedabad during the period Of January, 2018 to July, 2018. Endometrial tissue was fixed and preserved in formalin. The blocks were cut at 4–5 micron thickness. The hydrated Sections were subjected to Haemotoxylin Eosin stain.

In present Study Of 200 cases of Dysfunctional Uterine bleeding, proliferative phase and Endometrial hyperplasia were most commonly seen, each 63.5% and 28.5% respectively. Least common lesions were Tumors (polyp/adenocarcinoma) comprising 1.5% of the cases. Most common age group was between 31 to 40 years, which were present in 41% of total cases. In present series youngest patient was 20 years and oldest was 70 years female. Most patients were of childbearing age.

In present study of 200 cases, significant number of endometrial samples revealed pathology rendering endometrial curetting and biopsy an important procedure. It is an important procedure for females in childbearing age, as DUB is most common in that age group.
