The aim of our study was to find out incidence of prolactin level in female infertility & its correlation with hypothyroidism.
The present study was conducted on 100 patients attending outpatient department of obstetrics and Gynaecology SIMS, Hapur.
Sixty patient had primary infertility and forty patient had secondary infertility. Anovulatory cycles were 52%.(40% and 55% Primary & secondary infertility respectively). Galactorrhoea was present in 9% of the women. The incidence of Hyperprolactinemia i.e. serum prolactin level was more than 25% was 52%. The incidence of hypothyroidism 33.3%.
There is high incidence of hyperprolactinemia in infertile women positive correlation of 1:3 was found between hypothyroidism and hyperprolactinemia.
