Abstract

Pregnancy associated cardiomyopathy or PACM has all the clinical characteristics of patients who meet the traditional criteria of Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) except for the fact that it is diagnosed at an earlier gestational age1. We present a case of 32 year old multigravida at 33 weeks of gestation who presented with cardiomyopathy in pregnancy complicated by severe preeclampsia associated with antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS). Occurrence of dilated cardiomyopathy is a very rare cardiac manifestation of APS2 and the scenario of pregnancy associated cardiomyopathy in APS is hardly reported.
