Ependymomas are the commonest glial tumours arising from conus medullaris, filum terminale and cauda equina.1 They have also been reported in extra spinal soft tissues of the lumbosacral region without any connection with spine or spinal cord.2
We report a case of 20 year old man who presented with clinical symptoms of prolapsed intervertebral disc and radiological features suggestive of tuberculous abscess which proved otherwise by histopathological examination as Extraspinal myxopapillary ependymoma.
