Stroke is a world -wide health problem. It was estimated that stroke represented 1.2% of the total deaths in India, when all ages were included. The most promising strategy to reduce the worldwide burden of stoke is effective stroke prevention. Carotid artery Intima -media thickness (IMT) is an independent predictor of subsequent stroke or myocardial infarction after adjustment for traditional risk factors (hypertension, smoking etc.)1. We sought to establish the relationship between CIMT and risk of stroke. In our study, there are 130 patient were taken as case & control. CIMT may be used as an indicator of atherosclerosis in stroke.
