The objective of this study was to know demographic factors, causes & outcome of burns in Pediatric age group in NCR, Delhi.

Burn unit, Department of surgery, LLRM Medical College and SIMS, Hapur.
In this study a total of 106 pediatric patients were taken at SVBP hospital Meerut & SIMS, hapur between Jan 13 to Dec 14. All the data regarding demography, etiology of burn, percent of burn in TBSA & outcome were analyzed
Out of 106 patients female were 55 (51.89%) and male were 51 (48.11%). Most of the patients belonged to rural area 74 (69.81%), most of the incidence 50 (90.91%) and 45 (88.2%) occurred at home in female and male respectively. Flame and scald were the most common cause of burn 66 (62.26%) and 30 (28.30%) respectively. In most of the cases 92 (86.79%) burn occurred accidently. scald burn were common in adolescents. Mortality rate in our study was 25 (23.58%).
This study gives an idea about the profile of pediatric burns in western U.P. By taking preventive measures we can prevent the burn injuries in pediatric population.
