Eighty six (86) non-pathological, dried, crania.out of them 62 were Male and 24 were Female crania were selected for study. The Mean value of cranial Index in Males Crania was 74.68 cm (sd ± 5.29) and mean value length of Right OC was2.65cm(sd ±0.28).and breadth of Right OC was 1.46 cm.(sd ± 0.15). and Left OC mean value was 2.24cm.(sd ±0.28), Breadth was1.19cm(sd ±.16) in Male Crania. In Female Crania mean value of Cranial Index was 76.97cm (sd ±4.95). Mean value of length of Right OC was 2.38cm(sd ±0.33)., breadth of Right OC was 1.32 cm(sd ±0.14). Mean value of length of Left OC was2.03cm.(sd ±0.25), Breadth was 1.26cm (0.16)Moreover, Correlative coefficient in both sexes were highly Significant.(p<0.001) with 95% of Confidence interval values
This study will have Radiological importance because in Radiological techniques the exact Length and Breadth of the OC and Crania cannot be ruled out. This study is quite useful for the Medicolegal Expert, as he can explore the crania by knowing these metrical values of OC and vice versa. This Study is also useful for Anthropologist, Anatomist to compare these present metrical values with previous studies and note the evolutionary changes Above all this study is quite useful to Neurosurgeon. Because he has to approach complex cranio-vertebral Joint without causing any un predictable alarming emergency. No previous data is available like this correlative study. Hence this work appears to be a quite new method.
