Primary Prevention of ocular Injuries in esI Patients with safety Goggles

The ESI scheme has the largest medical infrastructure under one umbrella in India. Medical care is provided through a huge network of 150 hospitals, 1403 ESI dispensaries, 1447 panel clinics and 6536 IMOs. Eye trauma is number one cause of vision loss in industrial workers ³. Safety eye wear has shown to be effective in preventing eye injuries¹. In this study, we are presenting a prospective comparative study of eye injuries in iron workers in factories, who use goggles and those who do not use goggles while work.
