Evaluation of Nutrient Status of Rainfed Chickpea Growing Vertisols of Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh

Abstract

Survey on evaluation of macro and micro nutrient status of chickpea growing vertisols (46 soil samples from 46 farmer's fields) of Anantapur district covering 11 mandals during 2001 and 2002 revealed that 93.5 per cent soils were low in organic carbon, all soils were low in available N, 56.5 per cent soils were high in available P2O5, 28.3 per cent soils were low in available and 82.6 per cent soils were medium in available K2O. All 100 per cent soils were deficient in Zn and Fe and sufficient in Mn and Cu respectively.
