Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during kharif for two years (2018 and 2019) under AICRP for Dryland Agriculture at Kuthulia farm, JNKVV, Rewa (M.P.) to study the performance of pigeonpea based intercropping system. Among pigeonpea based intercropping systems, pigeonpea + greengram (1:2) recorded significantly higher pigeonpea equivalent yield 1316 kg ha−1 compared to other intercropping systems across two years and also gave net returns of 56137 ha−1. Further, this intercropping system also recorded relatively higher land equivalent ratio of 1.65 indicating yield advantage compared to sole crops.
