Abstract

In the present work the flow optimization of primary to secondary air in a combustion burning chamber is carried out using Fluent 6.[4], which is a powerful Finite Volume Method tool. In the process of getting the flow optimization for proper combustion and the temperature distribution in the burning chamber[1] is been evaluated using this software.

The design features of the burning chamber segment have been taken from the preliminary design of a combustor.

A new burning chamber has been developed, that has >30% thermal efficiency, can be started, operated and stopped with very low emissions and can use a wide variety of fuels. A model of the burning chamber is described based on the measured parameters the primary to secondary air ratio's is been optimized.
