Abstract

First time several insect specimens belonging to different families of Diplura (Insecta: Diplura) under the genera Japyx, Anajapyx and Compodea are reported from different ecosystems of Uttar Pradesh. Modified Tullgren funnels were used for extraction of diplurans. Mango orchard (Mangifera indica L.), teak plantation (Tectona grandis), bamboo groves (Bambusa sp.) and floral garden (Tabernaemontana divaricata (L.)) were surveyed for collection of diplurans. Mango orchard soil litter recorded the presence of the families viz. Japygidae, Anajapygidae and Compodidae.
