A New species of Aridelus Marshall (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) from India

Abstract

A new species of the genus Aridelus, viz., A. aciculatus Shamim sp. nov. is described and illustrated. A key to the Indian species of Aridelus Marshall given. The new species resembles A. flavicoxae (Shujauddin) and A. absonus Narendran and Sheeba, but can be differentiated in its intertentorial line 2.5x as that of tentorio-ocular line, frons aciculo-punctate with median carina, length of eye in dorsal view 1.6x of temple, and first metasomal tergite 5x longer than wide at spiracles.
