Abstract

Field experiment was conducted to evaluate some new molecules against Spodoptera litura (Fabricus) in groundnut. The application of spinosad 0.018% was found to be superior in suppression of larval population of S. litura and was on par with emamectin benzoate and thiodicarb. The highest pod yield (1983 kg/ha) recorded with the treatment of spinosad was on par with all the insecticides evaluated whereas bio-agents stood at second position. Chlorpyriphos recorded highest cost benefit ratio (1: 8.11) followed by quinalphos (1: 6.11) and emamectin benzoate (1: 5.3).
