Abstract

Multiple linear pest-weather regression model was developed between weather factors viz., maximum temperature (Tmax), minimum temperature (Tmin), morning relative humidity (RH1) and evening relative humidity (RH2) and logarithmically transformed BPH light trap catches observed during kharif season from 2000 to 2007 at Maruteru, Andhra Pradesh. The pest-weather model involving three weather parameters viz., Tmax, Tmin and RH, was found to be the best fit as all the three weather factors showed significant influence on BPH light trap catches with the coefficient of determination (R2) being 0.674.
