Haemocytes of Rhynchophorus ferrugineus were described and figured as they appear in stained blood films. Six types of haemocytes were identified and they are prohaemocyte, plasmatocyte, granulocyte, adipohaemocyte, oenocytoid and spherulocyte. The haemogram profile noted in seven different stages revealed that there is a significant reduction in the count of granulocyte and plasmatocyte during pupation, which plays a key role in the defence against enemies.
