Abstract

Six insecticides were evaluated for their persistence and residual toxicity against first and third instar larvae of E. vitella on okra. On the basis of PT values spinosad 0.005% (1026.2) and on LT50 values cypermethrin 0.01% (10.41 days) were found effective against first instar larvae. However, PT and LT50 values for 1.59 and 14.74 days, respectively were observed due to spinosad 0.005% against first instar larvae of on okra fruits. The highest PT value was obtained for spinosad 0.005% (764.9) while the highest LT50 value was recorded profenofos 0.08% (6.07 days) against third instar larvae on okra fruits.
