Abstract

Bioefficacy studies of various treatments against painted bug revealed that seed treatment with imidacloprid 70 WS @ 5g and 7g/kg seed and thiamethoxam 70 WS @ 5 and 7g/kg seed and application of endosulfan 4% dust @ 10 kg/ha provided significant reduction in population and higher yield. Incremental cost-benefit ratio indicated that the most favourable return was obtained under imidacloprid 70 WS @ 5g/kg seed (1:33) followed by imidacloprid 70 WS @ 7g/kg seed (1:31) and endosulfan 4% dust @ 10 kg/ha (1:23) while poor incremental cost-benefit ratio was observed in irrigation at 25–30 days after sowing (1:2), thiamethoxam 70WS @ 7g/kg seed (1:3) and thiamethoxam 70WS @ 5g/kg seed (1:8).
