Abstract

An experiment was conducted at Haramaya University, Ethiopia research field of to find out the infestation level of sorghum shoot fly, Atherigona soccata Rondani on sorghum crop by using correlation and multiple regression analyses. A. soccata Rondani infestation was observed in the three different phases or patterns of its activities as increased phase in initial stages of crop growth, maintained higher level in grand growth phase of crop and decreased phase at crop reaching to cessation stage. The significant correlation and regression coefficients of maximum temperature and sunshine hrs found as positive and negative, respectively. The calculated ‘t’ value was found significant at 5% of probability. The coefficient of determination of different weather factors was found 43%.
