Experiment was conducted at intermediate zone of Jammu Division under RBD with three replications and twelve treatments in maize variety “Kanchan” sown at 60 × 20 cm spacing. Imidacloprid @ 4g a.i. kg−1 seed treatment and thiomethoxam @ 1g a.i. kg−1 were found to be at par while seed treatment alone with imidacloprid and thiomethoxam could reduce the infestation to an extent of 9.66 and 11.33%, with increase in grain yield. Carbofuran 3G @ 10 kg ha−1 reduced the infestation to 12.50% while seed treatment with imidacloprid followed by carbofuran whorl treatment proved to be the most effective.
