Bioefficacy of tolfenpyrad (15% EC) against aphid Brevicoryne brassicae L. Infesting cabbage in Rajasthan

Abstract

Three dosages of the tolfenpyrad 15% viz; 100, 125 and 150g along with two treated checks i.e., cartap hydrochloride 50% SP @ 500g a.i./ha and chlorphenapyr (lepido) 10%SC @ 75g a.i./ha and untreated check were evaluated against cabbage aphid, Brevicoryne brassicae L. in cabbage during 2009–2010. All the treatments were significantly superior over untreated check. Among the treatments, maximum reduction in aphid population after third, seventh and fourteenth days after sprays ranged from 24.45 to 97.14% in tolfenpyrad @ 150 and 125 g. a.i/ha. The least aphid count, 6.37 three leaves, was recorded in Tolfenpyrad 15%@ 150g followed by tolfenpyrad @ 125 g. a.i./ha and cartap hydrochloride @ 500g.a.i./ha.
