Abstract

Field experiments were conducted in two crop seasons during 2010 and 2011 on okra to manage the yellow vein mosaic virus disease transmitted by Bemisia tabaci by new insecticides, as well as computing their cost benefit ratio for proper fit in IPM strategies.The results indicated that the whitefly population as well as yellow mosaic virus incidence were less in diafenthiuron 50 WP @ 600 g/ha, imidacloprid 70 WG @ 75 g/ha and thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 100 g/ha treatments. Maximum marketable fruit yield of 69.53 q/ha was realized in imidacloprid 70 WG treatment with C: B ratio of 1: 10.46.
