Biology of Parasa Lepida Cramer (Lepidoptera: Limacodidae) on Populus from India
Abstract
Life cycle of the polyphagous limacodid pest Parasa lepida Cramer on Populus deltoides Bartr., has been studied and described for the first time. Larvae of this pest have very irritant tufts of spines and moves like a slug. They generally prefer mature leaves and almost devour the leaves except the midrib. Females tend to be slightly larger than the males.
