Abstract

Effect of imidacloprid 600 FS (Gaucho) and thiamethoxam 600 FS (Cruiser) were evaluated as a seed dresser at different dosages against jassids in cotton during early growth at Department of Agricultural Entomology, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola in 2012–13. Results indicated that seed treatment with imidacloprid 600 FS at 18, 13.5ml/kg followed by thiamethoxam 600 FS at 7.5 ml/kg afforded protection. Significantly highest jassids population was obtained with imidacloprid 600 FS @ 18, 13.5 ml/kg (1.51 and 1.57) followed by thiamethoxam 600 FS @ 7.5 ml/kg (1.63) when compared with the untreated (control). The highest toxicity was observed when the seeds were treated with imidacloprid 600 FS @ 18 ml/kg followed by thiamethoxam 600 FS @ 7.5 ml./kg.
