Bioassay of some novel insecticides viz., flubendiamide, emamectin benzoate, chlorantraniliprole and fipronil was carried out on the primary parasitoid, Aprostocetus purpureus (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) of lac insect, Kerria lacca (Kerr), exposing to residual film of insecticides. Fipronil was observed to be with a quick knockdown response which varied from 67.87- 95.14%, followed by emamectin benzoate, flubendiamide and chlorantraniliprole within 1 h of exposure. Emamectin benzoate, flubendiamide and chlorantraniliprole exhibited relatively slow residual contact toxicity compared to fipronil, after 24 h exposure. These insecticides which are being recommended for management of lac insect predators due to their safety to lac culture show residual toxicity against lac insect parasitioids and thus can be recommended.
