Abstract

Effect of solar energy viz-a-viz colour of the storage bag was evaluated to determine their effect on adult emergence, grain damage, weight loss, seed germination and adult mortality in Callosobruchus chinensis (L.). The exposure period of 24 hr to solar energy in black and blue coloured polythene bags was the most effective to reduce infestation and adult emergence, and to cause adult mortality.
