Genitalia of Some Wild Silk Moths (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) from Meghalaya

Abstract

Genitalia of 15 species of wild silk moth species collected from the North-Eastern state of Meghalaya are presented, with photographs and salient features. These species include: Attacus atlas (Linnaeus, 1758), Archaeoattacus malayanus (White, 1859), Samia ricini (Boisduval, 1854), Samia canningi (Hutton, 1860), Actias selene (Hubner, 1807), Actias maenas (Doubleday, 1847), Antheraea assamensis (Helfer, 1837), Antheraea roylei (Moore, 1859), Antheraea helferi (Moore, 1858), Caligula simla (Westwood, 1847), Caligula thibeta (Westwood, 1853), Caligula zuleika (Hope, 1843), Cricula trifenestrata (Helfer, 1837), Rhodinia newara (Moore, 1872) and Loepa katinka (Westwood, 1848).
