A laboratory experiment was conducted to find out the fumigant toxicity of essential oils of Murraya koenigii, Citrus reticulata, Curcuma longa, and Pinus. roxburghii against Sitophilus oryzae, Rhyzopertha dominica, Tribolium castaneum and Sitotroga cerealella for long term protection of paddy seeds in plastic jars. Most of the essential oils either alone or in combinations protect the paddy seeds against test insects up to one year at different concentrations as compare to untreated control. The tested essential oils also prevent the weight losses due to insect infestations. The quality of paddy seeds and germination percentage were not affected by these essential oils.
