The fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) incidence on maize during the monsoon season was confirmed at Udaipur, and its infestation was 19±3.35 to 20±5.59 plants/100 m2. The spatial distribution pattern of the larvae was uniform or close to random, rather than aggregated. The mean crowding index ranged from 9.63 to 25.27 and the Lloyd's index was close to 1.0.
