Abstract

Field experiment was carried out during kharif 2017–18 at the Instructional unit of JNKVV-College of Agriculture Rewa (M.P). The evaluation of black gram cultivars for preference to the whitefly Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) and Bihar hairy caterpillar Spilosoma obliqua (Walker) revealed that the cultivar KPU 564-24 was the most susceptible and TV 94-2 tolerant. Trichome density was found to be the plant character relevant to resistance.
