Botanicals for management of sitophilus oryzae (L.) and callosobruchus chinensis (L.)

Abstract

Bioassay with Ocimum sanctum L. and Polygonum hydropiper L. leaf powders @ 5 g/ kg seeds revealed adult mortality of Sitophilus oryzae (L.) at 70.00% and 96.67%, respectively; with Callosobruchus chinensis (L.) these values were 66.67% and 93.33% at 10 DAT, respectively. The LD50 values of O. sanctum and P hydropiper leaf powders were 0.86 g/ kg and 1.69 g/ kg against S. oryzae and 1.01 g/ kg and 1.32 g/ kg against C. chinensis, respectively.
