Abstract

In this study, 30 sesamum genotypes were evaluated against the leaf webber and capsule borer Antigastra catalaunalis Duponchel. Observations made at the various growth stages revealed that none of the genotypes were free from infestation. During kharif 2016 and 2017, flower damage ranged from 5.07 to 42.67 and 4.07 to 32.60%, respectively; and the capsule damage ranged from 4.33 to 23.93 and 3.73 to 21.40%, respectively. In both the years, SI-250 exhibited resistant reaction; and six genotypes viz., RT-46, JTS-8, Hima, RT-54, N-32 and HTC-1B and 13 genotypes viz., Krishna, RT-46, JTS-8, TKG-22, RT-103, Usha, Hima, RT-54, MT-75, N-32, TKG-21, HTC-1B and OC-201 were observed to be moderately resistant, during kharif 2016 and 2017, respectively.
