Abstract

The evaluation of genotypes against cardamom thrips Sciothrips cardamomi Ramk. was carried out at the Indian Cardamom Research Institute (ICRI), Sakleshpur during 2017-2018. Among the 14 genotypes, PL No. 14, SKP 104, CR 6, IC 349651 and MCC 346 were found to be superior with least incidence. These were followed by SKP 164, IC 547167, Local Malabar, ICRI 3 and CL 726. Maximum incidence was observed with the genotype Green Gold followed by IC 349545, CL 691 and IC 547185. PL No. 14 (510 kg/ ha) gave significantly maximum yield and this was statistically on par with MCC 346 (498.5 kg/ ha) and others.
